All reservations for the letting of Taigh Tindill shall be confirmed in writing by email. A deposit of 25% of the rental cost is payable to confirm the booking. If the booking is within eight weeks of the arrival date then payment is required in full. Non-payment of the balance by the due date stated will be deemed as cancellation of the booking. The balance for payment must be made eight weeks prior to the arrival date. The due date for payment shall be noted in the booking confirmation email. Payment is to be made by bank transfer. 

 

Cancellation policy

If the cancellation is more than 8 weeks prior to the arrival date:

 If you wish to cancel your booking please notify Harry by phone or email immediately. Cancellation anytime up to eight weeks prior to the agreed arrival date will result in the forfeiture of the deposit.

If the cancellation is within 8 weeks of the arrival date (and payment has been made in full): We will endeavour to re-let the property for the period booked. If we are able to re-let the property for the period booked then we will return 75 % of all monies paid by you. The 25 % deposit will be forfeited as liquidated damages for the breach of contract. If we are unable to re-let the house, then the guest shall be liable for the full cost of the booked rental period.

Damages & loss

Guests must notify Harry or the Housekeeper upon arrival at the Property should they find any existing damage or cleanliness issues. Harry or the Housekeeper will attend to any issues that can be immediately addressed, and otherwise will note the issues so that the guest will not be held liable.

LIABILITY

The guest acknowledges that Harry is not liable for any sickness, injury, loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience, directly or indirectly caused by or arising out of the occupancy of Taigh Tindill. The guest also agrees that Harry is not liable for any damage to personal property or persons occupying the house caused by weather conditions, exceptional or otherwise.

HOUSEKEEPING /DAMAGE DEPOSIT

A housekeeping/damage deposit of £100  will be taken at the time of paying the balance for Taigh Tindill. If Taigh Tindill is left in a clean and tidy manner and no damage or smoking has occurred, then the deposit shall be returned to the guest by bank transfer within 5  working days of the guest’s departure.

PETS

We allow well-behaved dogs to stay in the house although prior approval must be sought and given. We would ask that you please inform Harry at the time of booking if you wish to bring a dog/dogs with you. Dogs will incur an additional cleaning fee (per dog) which guests will be informed of at time of booking. The maximum number of dogs allowed at any one time is three, and must not exceed this number.

Dogs must be house-trained, kept under proper control and not allowed on the furniture, and especially the beds, nor left unattended in the property. Dog hairs are to be removed from carpets and all dog waste collected and disposed of. Dog owners will be held responsible for any damage caused to the property, contents or garden by their dog and for any extra cleaning required.

We reserve the right to seek details of any dogs in advance and to refuse permission for them to be brought to the accommodation for any reason, including if they are considered unsuitable in character, size or behaviour, or liable to be a nuisance.

CHILDREN

We offer a very family friendly house for children of all ages. There are toys, games and books available for use by any children staying at the house. Please take care with any young children and do not leave them unattended with the windows open.

SMOKING

The house is strictly no smoking.

CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE OWNER (FORCE MAJEURE)

If for any reason we have to cancel your booking in advance due to circumstances beyond our control for example fire, flood, exceptional weather conditions, epidemics, destruction/damage to the property (“force majeure“) you will be refunded the full amount of the booking. If we have to terminate your holiday early for the above reasons you will be refunded part of the lodging costs based on the time remaining of the booking. This will be the full extent of the liability of the Owners.  No additional compensation, expenses or costs will be payable.

In the event that any individual term or clause stated in these Terms and Conditions of Let is not permissible by law, the remainder of the agreement shall remain valid.
